About the workshops:

I've designed these process-focused workshops specifically for people who are not trained as artists, but are interested in exploring the therapeutic power of art for self expression and empowerment. In a welcoming environment, and you will be guided to tap into your innate creative energies with very simple materials. I've taught these in person for several years and, for the last two months, I've been offering these online with great response from participants. For many people working from home, this creative time has offered a respite from daily anxieties.  

Some background:

After receiving a B.A. in Studio Art and a B.S. in Behavioral and Community Health, I worked with the Montgomery County government in Maryland as a Behavioral Health Program Coordinator for a few years. There, I developed mental health education materials and outreach programming for minorities while practicing as an interdisciplinary artist in the Washington D.C area. I've taught these for the last 4 years at various community arts centers, university campuses, non-profit organizations, and youth camps. These workshops are part of my studio practice of working in and with communities, using art as a medium for dialogue and healing. I'm in the process of expanding these offerings as an independent artist very soon, so please keep an eye out for updates.
